For Fraunhofer, the biggest financial development in 2023 was that our total business volume grew to €3.4 billion, an increase of 12 percent over the previous year. Our focus on contract research – which, at 88 percent of our business, is the core of what we do – allows us to develop innovative solutions that already make a crucial contribution to the future viability of industry and society today.

Through our applied research and efforts to accelerate transfer in direct relation to customer benefits, we strengthen our unique positioning as a key player in the research and transfer segment. Our partnership with industry not only helps to bolster innovative strength, but also enhances competitiveness for both Germany and Europe.
