Two centers are united under the umbrella of Fraunhofer Austria Research GmbH, which was founded in 2009, each comprising several business areas or innovation centers:
The Fraunhofer Austria Center for Sustainable Production and Logistics includes the business areas “Factory Planning and Production Management”, “Logistics and Supply Chain Management”, and “Industrial Engineering and Digitalization" in Vienna and the Innovation Center "Digital Transformation of Industry" in Tyrol.
The Fraunhofer Austria Center for Data Driven Design includes the business area "Visual Computing" in Graz and the Innovation Center "KI4LIFE" in Klagenfurt.
Both centers maintain close cooperation with the technical universities at their locations.
