In order to increase the proportion of women in scientific and managerial positions in the long term, it is necessary to encourage women to develop an interest in STEM and managerial activities as early as possible, and give them a broad range of gender-inclusive career and study options. We promote this aim by recruiting female students and graduates through a variety of measures, such as the Science Campus event and Fraunhofer TALENTA program, which are intended to encourage more young women to develop an interest in doctoral studies and starting careers at Fraunhofer Institutes.
