Integration of Biological and Physical-Chemical Material Functions, Potsdam-Golm
High-Performance Center Integration of Biological and Physical-Chemical Material Functions, which has strong support from the Federal State of Brandenburg, aims to combine structural and functional materials for new products and their production processes. Examples include lab-on-chip modules for medicine, smart cards for the security industry and structurally integrated composite sensors for light-weight constructions. The Center will unite existing skills in the individual disciplines of materials development and production technology and advance them to a new quality level. Typical functions to be integrated include biological functions as well as haptics, actorics, sensorics, electroluminescence, photovoltaics and illumination functions. In future, a major application field for such R&D approaches will be in connection with Industrie 4.0.
