Fascinated by science, technology, engineering and math? Then you’ve come to the right place! The Talent Take Off student orientation program is your chance to dive into the exciting world of applied research and learn hands-on what it’s like to work as a researcher at Fraunhofer.

You will get an exclusive look at real-world practice, along with answers to all your questions about working in the fields of science and technology. As a special bonus, you will also get to know like-minded peers — your fellow students — who are also excited about STEM.

Our program consists of two modules tailored specifically to your age and experience. Whether you’re only just getting started or already have some experience under your belt, Talent Take Off will give you the guidance you need to chart your own path in the fascinating world of research. We look forward to meeting you!

Talent Take Off — Getting Started

Let us support you as you move toward your studies. This one-week intensive course will take you on a deep dive into various topics that can help you narrow down your choice of study fields. From exciting technology workshops and a visit to a Fraunhofer institute to talks with students and scientists, the whole program revolves around your future!

Learn where your strengths and interests lie — and most of all, which program is the best fit for you. Get to know peers who share your interests, explore STEM subjects and plan your next steps.

Participation fee: Early bird discounted rate 70 euros, regular rate 100 euros (includes overnight accommodations at a youth hostel, full board, transportation during the program, training and workshops, recreational activities).
Sliding scale available upon request.  

Digital preparatory meeting:
We use Microsoft Teams for this. To attend, you will need access to a computer or tablet with internet access, a webcam and audio and a quiet work environment. If you do not have access as described above, please contact us so we can discuss how to make your participation as successful as possible.

Talent Take Off — Connect

»Talent Take Off – Connect« gives you the chance to meet up with other talented young people from all over Germany and talk to Fraunhofer researchers about exciting projects. Four days packed with inspiring talks, workshops and the chance to build your own network — join in and take your passion for science, technology, engineering and math to the next level!

Who can attend?

Secondary school students in grades 10–13 and higher education students in any STEM field

Registration

Registration is now closed. However, you can contact Birgit Geiselbrechtinger by email at any time to be placed on the list  for next year’s program. 

Participation fee: 100 euros (includes overnight accommodations at Wannseeforum Berlin, full board, transportation to the main train station in Berlin on the departure date, presentations and workshops, recreational activities) or 70 euros with early bird discount (available to those who register by March 24, 2024).
